About the Product

What is a vaginal/yoni steam?

Vaginal steaming is a traditional self-care practice found in many cultures around the world, including Chinese herbal medicine. During a steam, you sit above a bowl of warm herbal water and allow the gentle steam to reach the outer tissues of the body. In the TCM tradition, it's used to bring warmth and support natural circulation in the pelvic area.

What herbs are in the Qi Era Herbal Steam?

Every herb in our blend is selected by a Traditional Chinese Medicine specialist for its specific energetic role in feminine wellness. Our full ingredient list can be found on the product page and on every package label. We never use proprietary mystery blends. You'll always know exactly what's in your pack.

How many steams are in one package?

Each package contains 2 pre-measured packs — one pack per steam session.

Are the herbs organic?

Our herbs are sourced from a trusted Chinese herbal medicine supplier we've worked with for years. We prioritize quality, purity, and transparency in our sourcing. Specific certifications are listed on the product label.

Is this the same as a "yoni steam" I've seen on social media?

The practice of herbal steaming exists in many traditions. What makes Qi Era different is that our blends are formulated by a TCM specialist using the principles of traditional Chinese herbal medicine, not assembled from general wellness trends or internet recipes. The herbs are selected for their specific energetic properties and how they work together as a formulation.

How to Use

How do I steam?

Before you begin, gently wash your intimate area with warm water.

Step 1: Boil — Fill a medium to large pot halfway with 4 to 6 cups of water. Empty one Qi Era pouch into the pot, cover, and let it boil for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Transfer — Carefully pour the herbal infusion into a heat-safe basin, yoni steam stool, or large bowl. Use a strainer to catch the herbs. Let it cool for 2 to 3 minutes. The steam should feel warm and comfortable, never hot.

Step 3: Steam — Position yourself comfortably over the steam and relax for 15 to 20 minutes. When you're finished, rinse your intimate area with warm water and discard the herbs.

No steam seat? You can use a heat-safe bowl placed inside your toilet bowl, or a sitz bath basin placed over your toilet seat. Full instructions are included with every package and on our product page.

How often should I steam?

Many women steam one to three times per month as part of their wellness ritual. Each package is designed to support a regular practice. Listen to your body and find a rhythm that feels right for you.

Do I need a special steaming seat?

No. You can use a heat-safe bowl placed inside your toilet, sit over a large basin, or invest in a dedicated steaming seat. The most important things are that you're comfortable and that you always test the steam temperature before you begin.

How hot should the steam be?

The steam should feel warm and comfortable, never hot. Always test the temperature with your inner wrist before sitting down. If the steam feels too hot, let it cool for a few more minutes. Burns can occur if the water has not cooled enough.

Can I reuse a pack?

We recommend using each pack only once for the best experience. The herbs release their full properties during the initial steep.

Safety

Who should NOT steam?

Do not steam if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, currently on your menstrual cycle, have an IUD or internal contraceptive device, have an active vaginal infection or open wounds, have had recent pelvic surgery, or are experiencing unexplained bleeding. If you are unsure, please consult a healthcare professional before use.

Is vaginal steaming safe?

When used as directed, herbal steaming is a gentle practice. The most important safety step is always testing the steam temperature before you begin. That said, steaming is not appropriate for everyone. Please review our full safety guidelines on the product page and consult with your healthcare provider if you have concerns.

Can I steam if I have an IUD?

We recommend that you do not steam if you have an IUD or any internal contraceptive device. Please consult your healthcare provider for guidance specific to your situation.

Can I steam if I'm trying to conceive?

Herbal steaming is a traditional practice that many women incorporate into their wellness routines. However, if you are actively trying to conceive, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before beginning any new practice.

What if I experience irritation?

Stop use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Everyone's body is different, and if something doesn't feel right, trust that instinct.

Where do your herbs come from?

Our herbs are sourced from a Chinese herbal medicine supplier we've personally trusted and worked with for years, long before Qi Era was a business. We prioritize quality, transparency, and intentional sourcing.

Who is behind Qi Era?

Qi Era was founded by two Vietnamese Chinese women who grew up with traditional Chinese herbal medicine as a part of daily life.
